Description
Nokia Web Tools provides a set of tools that enable the prototyping and creation of Series 40 and Symbian web apps. The tools included are:- Web Developer Environment — enabling web apps to be created, edited, packaged and deployed.
- Web Apps Simulator — enabling web apps to be previewed on a computer and for debug information for Series 40 web apps to be viewed.
- Web Developer Channel — included in Web Developer Environment, this channel deliver information and tools to facilitate web app development.
- Web App Designer — enabling web apps to be prototyped.
The version of Nokia Web Tools for Windows requires that Web Developer Environment be run in administrator mode for web app previews to open in Web App Simulator. A patch is available to resolve this issue, it's available here. For more information on the patch see the Nokia Web Tools release notes.
Developers based in China
For developers based in China a variant of the tools is available. This variant makes use of the local data centres for Series 40 web app previews. For China based developers, use of local servers is expected to provide better preview performance. To download the variant select the appropriate '(China)' version from the download list.
